The teaching team of this Department is characterized by the
overall higher education of the staff members, among whom all but
one of the teachers were awarded with Master/Doctor's Degree
of Medicine, all but one of the technicians were graduated from
the college classes of this University. The background of medical
education (two of the teachers hold physician qualification
certificates) is beneficial to the teaching of, and the research
on, medical immunology which is closely associated with clinical
medicine. All staff except for two young members were also
involved in the teaching and research on medical microbiology,
which significantly enriched the scientific knowledge and
experience of this teaching team.
Almost
all the students who study at this University take
immunology courses. Among them are yearly more than one thousand
undergraduates and hundreds of graduates and physicians. All the professors and associate professors, without any
exception, have been giving lectures to the students. A
bilingual teaching program has started in this department for the
undergraduates who are studying in a seven-year education system. The research
interests of this department cover the areas of
molecular immunology, neroimmunology, allergy, anti-infectious and
anti-tumor immunity. The recruitment of postgraduates each
year enable the scientific research go on actively.
Attention has been paid to the scholastic exchange. Many
scientists, home and abroad, were invited to give speech to this
department and those who are interested in immunology. On the
other hand, some of the staff members took chance to visit
European and American universities for advance
studies.
We are dedicating ourselves to the development
of Chinese educational career and the improvement of the health
situation of Chinese people.
